Formerly a dancer, she brings a sharp eye for versatility and a deep understanding of a wide range of genres including drama, commercials, comedy, action, documentary, fashion, dance and Vertical Dramas which is clearly reflected in her casting approach.
Her casting credits span across commercials, documentaries, immersive theatre, and cast for Britain’s Got Talent, ITV, Channel 4, and innovative digital platforms. She has worked closely with respected institutions including Ghetto Film School, NYU and the National Film and Television School (NFTS), casting compelling, story-led short and feature films.
As the first UK casting director to lead casting for Vertical Dramas, Liyanne has played a defining role in the format’s rise in the UK, with standout titles such as Mafia Lover, The Mafia Obsession, Pride & Prejudice, Saving Nora and more.
Liyanne has contributed to a number of standout projects, including two upcoming feature films: NEVER HAD A CHANCE - a gritty, contemporary story set within the Punjabi community of Hounslow, West London and PRESSURE - based on true events, which follows AJ, a young British Muslim who turns to crime in conflict with his faith.
She has collaborated on multiple productions with Ghetto Film School and the National Film and Television School, casting everything from short films and vertical formats to full-length features. Liyanne’s casting style is rooted in close collaboration with directors, producers, and writers to authentically bring the creative visions to life.
In 2024, Liyanne worked as a Casting Associate on two award-winning projects: If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys featuring Queen Charlotte’s Global Orchestra for Netflix, and Rumble in the Jungle – an immersive theatre experience by Rematch. She also contributed as a Casting Assistant on powerful campaigns, including the widely acclaimed This Girl Can for Sport England.
Her casting credits also span commercial work for Sports Direct, music videos for artists like Ardee and Ed Sheeran, and Series 18 of Britain’s Got Talent, where she brought her distinctive casting style and sharp eye to the world of television.
